Important Portrait Of The Countess Of La Rochefoucauld
An important and very beautiful portrait, French school, late 18th century, of Anne-Marie Marguerite de Chéry, Countess of La Rochefoucauld-Coussages, born in 1767 in Diennes-Aubigny to Guillaume de Chéry and Gabrielle de Maulnoury. She married Alexandre Armand de La Rochefoucauld (1767-1830), cavalry colonel and mayor, on February 18, 1789, in Nevers. They had three children: Louise-Alexandrine, Henriette, and Alexandrine-Leopoldine. The Countess of La Rochefoucauld died on July 20, 1849, in Nevers at the age of 81. A very fine armorial portrait in a beautiful antique frame. Excellent provenance. In perfect condition.
