Empire Thermometer In Gilt Bronze Depicting Dancing Women, Cherubs, And An Eagle, 19th Century
A finely chased Empire-style gilt bronze (with a green patina) thermometer, decorated with two draped dancers in the antique style. Above, two cherubs hold laurel wreaths and frame an eagle. The upper part of the frame is adorned with a crown embellished with bows and ribbons, and the border is fluted and foliate. Dating from the late 19th century, this thermometer is in good condition. Note: the ribbon holding the rear leg is broken, and there are some light scratches and signs of age (see photos). Height: 24.7 cm / tube: 10.5 cm. Width: 13 cm. Reference: E60 898.
