Victorian Rosewood And Bois De Rose Sideboard England Second Half Of The 19th Century
Victorian rosewood and rosewood sideboard with ebony and rosewood trim, ebonized moldings, and gilt-bronze appliques. The front is divided into three parts, with a projecting central body composed of a paneled door and a porcelain insert depicting musical damsels, enclosed in a gilt-bronze frame decorated with ribbons and leaves. Glass side doors alternate with turned columns with gilt-bronze bases and capitals. The central section of the lower shelf features porcelain panels painted with cherubs and ladies' faces, enclosed in gilt-bronze moldings that continue along the entire side. Turned and ebonized legs; burgundy velvet interior. England, second half of the 19th century.
