INGO MAURER LAMP 1982 MODEL BIbibibi LIMITED EDITION (500 copies) IN METAL / PORCELAIN WHITE PORCELAIN BASE, RED PLASTIC BIRD'S FEET SHADE, ADJUSTABLE BLACK LACQUERED METAL AND FEATHER DIFFUSER EDITION / INGO MAURER Dim: 60 cm high x 30 cm diameter ????️ Expert description – Bibibibi Lamp, 1982 An icon of postmodern design, the Bibibibi lamp designed in 1982 by Ingo Maurer perfectly embodies the playful and poetic spirit of the designer, often nicknamed the “poet of light”. Originally created as a wedding gift, this piece was born from a unique creative gesture: Maurer salvaged a pair of red plastic stork feet, found alone in a shop, and used them as the starting point for a luminous object that is both surreal and sculptural. The lamp consists of: a figurative base made of red bird feet; an adjustable black metal reflector, evoking the animal's body; a delicate feather on a vertical stem; and a white porcelain base, serving as both a light reflector and a support. The whole produces a soft, indirect, and glare-free light, while asserting a strong sculptural presence. This lamp is too fragile to be shipped by mail.
