Small Mahogany Empire Style Commode
A charming small mahogany commode in the Empire style, dating from the late 19th/early 20th century.
It features four drawers in the front and rests on straight legs terminating with bronze mounts.
The front legs are Empire style, while the rear legs are Louis XVI style, typical of Napoleon III furniture, which often displays a match of different styles. Indeed at this period cabinet makers we used to use the best of every style in a piece of furniture
The drawers are decorated with a small inlay in lemon wood .
It has a beautiful, intact Saint Anne marble top and bronze mounts.
The commode has a lovely patina and is in perfect condition.
