Beautiful portrait, surely of an Alsatian. Marie-Augustin Zwiller, born in Didenheim on July 10, 1850, and died in Neuilly-sur-Seine on June 24, 1939, was a French painter. Known primarily for his nudes inspired by Jean-Jacques Henner, he also distinguished himself with his portraits of Mulhouse high society and his scenes of the daily lives of the city's workers.
