Empire Period Console Table With Caryatids In Solid Mahogany And Marble
Magnificent and rare Empire period console table with caryatids, retaining its original white marble top. The marble is not broken, only has a few minor chips, but these are not noticeable. The caryatids are entirely made of richly carved wood, demonstrating very high-quality craftsmanship. A label stamped on the top beneath the marble is signed "Mr. Couchet, Cabinetmaker, Rue aux Fèvres, Châlons-sur-Saône, Saône-et-Loire." Fully restored by our cabinetmaking workshop, it is in perfect condition (see photos), with only minor signs of wear consistent with age. It comes from a bourgeois home. Marble top dimensions: Length 1.43m, Depth 46cm, Height 1.035m, Marble top thickness 2.5cm
