Iran, Persian Silver Chased Tray, Late 19th/Early 20th Century. Splendid Persian tray in finely chased solid silver, late 19th/early 20th century. This rectangular tray is richly and finely chased with a large central rosette, bordered by floral scrolls, foliage, birds, and stylized animals inspired by figurative scenes from Persian iconography, and stylized vegetation. The whole is embellished with an ornamental frieze and molded edges decorated with raised decorative elements. The solid silver is hallmarked on the underside; the hallmark needs to be identified. A work of very high quality, with refined and elegant lines. This tray can be used as a serving tray, tea tray, or as a decorative piece; a very beautiful ceremonial object. This delicately crafted piece, a beautiful example of goldsmithing, will easily complement your décor and enhance your interior. It dates from the late 19th/early 20th century.
