Iran, Persian Bucket, Solid Silver, Chiseled, Late 19th/Early 20th Century. Splendid Persian bucket in finely chiseled solid silver, late 19th/early 20th century. This bucket is entirely and finely chiseled with large circular medallions inspired by figurative scenes from Persian iconography, depicting birds and stylized vegetation in a garden. The undulating upper rim is adorned with an ornamental frieze. This bucket has a twisted silver handle. Its body is richly decorated with arabesques, floral scrolls, and plant motifs. Hallmarked underneath and bearing the number 84, corresponding to the fineness of 84 Zolotniki (875/1000), the standard in effect during the Russian occupation of Northern Persia. A very fine piece of craftsmanship, with refined and elegant lines. This bucket can be used for water or ice, but also as a decorative element, and will easily complement your interior.
