Victor Hugo / Complete Illustrated Works National Edition 1885-1895 44 volumes Following the author's death, the illustrated edition was quickly conceived as a tribute to Victor Hugo. 43 volumes were published up to 1895, classified into 7 categories: Novels (14), Poems (15), History (2), Dramas (5), Philosophies (2), The Rhine (2), Acts and Words (3). Our series also includes a volume devoted to the plates. The illustrations (219 plates) are particularly refined and original by the painters: Flameng, Gérôme, Henner, Jeanniot, Merson, Raffaëlli, Roux, and they were translated into etchings by Bracquemont, Courtry, Gery-Bichard, and Mongin.
