Our series also includes a volume devoted to the plates. The illustrations (219 plates) are particularly refined and original by the painters: Flameng, Gérôme, Henner, Jeanniot, Merson, Raffaëlli, Roux, and they were translated into etchings by Bracquemont, Courtry, Gery-Bichard, and Mongin.
