Art Deco Period Side Table In Burr Walnut Marquetry, 1930
An elegant octagonal Art Deco side table, made in the 1920s in the style of Paul Follot. This refined piece features a superb octagonal top in burr walnut marquetry, framed by a geometric frieze typical of the Art Deco style. The structure rests on four fluted, tapered legs, lending it great elegance and a beautiful visual lightness. The front is adorned with a small central drawer with a brass keyhole escutcheon, practical for storing small items. The sides feature delicate carved motifs that enhance the decorative character of the piece. The quality of the burr walnut and the marquetry work demonstrate fine cabinetmaking skill. Perfect as a side table, end table, living room pedestal table, or small entryway table. Minor signs of wear consistent with the age of the piece and a small area of missing varnish (see photo).
