This painting is signed in the lower right corner: OLIVE. Henri OLIVE, known as OLIVE des Martigues, began as a hairdresser on Place Gérard-Tenque in Martigues (see photo), while also painting small views of the town. These were appreciated by local customers and tourists alike. His success led him to abandon hairdressing and dedicate himself to painting, transforming his salon into an art gallery. Today, his works are increasingly sought after. He painted extensively, and his work is somewhat uneven.
