Large 19th-century Venetian Chandelier – Carved And Gilded Wood / Height: 122 Cm
Large 19th Century Venetian Chandelier – Carved and Gilded Wood Height: 122 cm. Exceptional 19th-century Venetian chandelier in finely carved wood, entirely gilded with gold leaf. A spectacular piece due to its size and the richness of its decoration, typical of Venetian Italian production. The twisted central shaft, abundantly adorned with acanthus leaves and rocaille motifs, supports a series of flowing arms with deep and powerful scrolls. The multi-light composition (a richly developed structure around the central core) offers remarkable balance and a strong decorative presence. The carving is particularly expressive: generous volutes, foliate finials, a carved pendant base, pronounced relief work, and warm gilding with an antique patina. The whole exudes a very pronounced Baroque character.
