Elegant pair of Japanese Imari vases with lids, dating back to the 19th century (late Edo or Meiji period). Made of glazed porcelain, they feature a rounded shape with a domed lid surmounted by a bulbous knob.

The decoration, typical of the Imari-Arita style, is executed in a rich and vibrant palette of underglaze cobalt blue, with overglaze iron red and gold. The ornamental motifs are densely distributed: floral, geometric, and stylized landscapes combine harmoniously in a succession of panels and decorations. The upper and lower portions of the vases are framed by ornamental bands, with stylized wave and Greek key motifs.

The decoration is distinguished by the refinement of the details and the quality of the execution, reflecting the influence of Eastern aesthetics, also intended for the European market.
