Maison Roméo – Pair Of Large Floor Lamps, Circa 1970 (b) Lucite And Gilt Bronze
Maison Roméo – Pair of large floor lamps, circa 1970 (B) Lucite and gilt bronze – Corinthian capitals – Expert appraisal. Exceptional pair of monumental floor lamps produced by Maison Roméo, circa 1970, perfectly illustrating the modernized neoclassical aesthetic characteristic of French designs of this period. Each lamp features a slender shaft in transparent lucite, punctuated by gilt bronze rings, resting on an architecturally designed square base. The finely sculpted capitals, inspired by the Corinthian order, are in richly chased gilt bronze, giving the whole a majestic and timeless appearance. The contrast between the transparency of the lucite and the warmth of the gilt bronze creates an elegant balance, typical of 1970s design, blending modern materials with classical references. Electrification present (to be verified according to current standards). Dimensions: Height: 185 cm. Condition: Very good overall condition. Minor signs of wear consistent with age and intended use. Expertly appraised. A spectacular piece ideal for a grand entrance hall, reception room, or interior with neoclassical, Hollywood Regency, or sophisticated contemporary décor.
