19th Century Silver-plated Metal Sanctuary Lantern 2366,009
Silver-plated metal church or chapel lantern. French work from the 19th century, inspired by late 18th-century designs. Circular model with applied decoration of three winged cherub heads alternating with rocaille cartouches. Applied relief ornamentation, finely chased faces and wings. Molded upper rim. Lower base finished with a gadrooned motif and a suspension ring. The lantern displays a beautiful antique patina with consistent signs of wear. Antique chains with forged links. The interior is preserved with its original mechanism. Traces of oxidation and partial wear to the silver plating in places, without structural damage.
