Oil on canvas – Lively Parisian Scene – H 41 x W 51 cm – 20th Century. Charming oil on canvas depicting a lively urban scene in a modern figurative style, inspired by Parisian views of the mid-20th century. The composition features a cobblestone square after the rain, with luminous and atmospheric reflections. On the left, a large building facade in warm tones (ochres, reds, and browns) houses illuminated shops whose windows are reflected in the damp ground. On the right, colorful stalls and, in the background, a twin-towered church evoking Parisian architecture (reminiscent of Montmartre). Several elegant figures move through the scene, adding rhythm and depth to the perspective. The treatment of the slightly hazy light, as well as the textural effects, give the whole a romantic and vibrant atmosphere. The painting displays palette knife work with generous impasto, particularly visible on the facades and in the illuminated areas. Beautiful pictorial texture giving depth and character to the work. Characteristics: Technique: Oil on canvas Dimensions: 41 x 51 cm Support: Canvas mounted on a wooden frame Period: 20th century Signature: Not visible Framing: Unframed Condition: Good overall condition. Canvas well stretched on its original frame. Slight signs of age visible along the edges and on the reverse (see photos). Minor superficial craquelure consistent with the technique and age. An ideal decorative piece for a classic or contemporary interior, bringing charm and Parisian ambiance.
