Measurements: H 89 cm x diameter 38 cm; base diameter 28 cm
The elegantlarge Chinese porcelain vase, with a slender silhouette, ovoid body
and tallflaring neck, entirely covered with a delicate aqua‑green celadon
glaze, wasmade in China around the early years of the 19th century. The whole
surface isdensely decorated with a refined white floral pattern: small
floweringbranches, buds and leaves run in a continuous rhythm, creating a
sophisticated effectthat lightens the imposing shape of the piece. On the neck
and shoulder thereare small Fo dogs and lizards in relief, modelled with
ornamental taste andperfectly integrated into the decoration. The light, luminous
celadon tone is enhanced by the brilliance of the glaze and by thecontrast with
the white decoration. The harmonious proportions, the quality ofthe body and
glazing, together with the particular richness of the vegetalrepertoire, make
this vase a decorative object of strong presence, suitable forenhancing both
classical and contemporary interiors. The vaseshows some losses and fractures.
