Louis XV Style Side Table, Mid-19th Century. Marquetry On Mahogany;
This pedestal table features highly realistic marquetry of terracotta household items. The oval upper top, framed by a bronze gallery, is inlaid with light and dark wood, potted plants, pitchers, and pots. It rests on four cabriole legs connected by a shelf. The lower oval top, notched at the front and also framed by a gallery, is likewise decorated with potted plants and a sugar bowl. The four crossbars, one of which opens to reveal a drawer, are decorated with cups, covered pots, bowls, a bottle, inkwells, and a water pitcher. This charming 19th-century pedestal table is in good condition.
