This elegant gilt bronze chandelier from the Empire period, dating from the early 19th century, was originally designed to be candlelit (not electrified). It features a central hemispherical bowl in patinated bronze, encircled by a finely chased frieze decorated with palmettes and stylized motifs characteristic of the Empire style. The six candle arms are adorned with finely crafted swan heads, an emblematic symbol of the Imperial style. The candle holders and sockets with engraved decoration rest on elegantly curved arms. Suspension is provided by chains gathered beneath a decorative gilt bronze rosette with a radiating motif. This chandelier has not been electrified, which will delight those who appreciate authenticity.
