African ritual head carved in wood, attributable to the Kongo/Yombe cultural sphere (Central Africa: DRC – Angola). The object features a hairstyle of natural fibers and an ancient ritual crust on the reverse, incorporating cowrie shells arranged according to a traditional cosmogram-like symbolism. The old patina, wear, and traces of use attest to authentic ritual use. Antique work, probably early 20th century. Uncleaned object, in very good original condition.
