"Pair Of Single-arm Gilt Bronze Wall Sconces, Late Louis XIV Period "
A pair of single-light wall sconces in chased and mercury-gilded bronze. The plates are decorated with the faces of conjoined servants separated by torches and intertwined quivers, surmounted by a stylized shell. The curved and counter-curved arms support gadrooned cups and bobeches adorned with palmettes. The bobeches are cast in the shell motif. Parisian work from the late Louis XIV period, circa 1700-1715. Not wired for electricity.
