Miniature Sentimental Pendant From The Empire Period, Signed Muller
This superb oval miniature depicts a young woman of quality in a wooded landscape. She wears a high-waisted white dress accentuated by a red ribbon bow, and a pale yellow scarf tucked into the neckline. Her natural, curly hair is held back by a ribbon headband. Gouache on ivory, signed Muller lower right. It is protected by convex glass and mounted as a pendant in a rectangular frame of gilt metal filigree, suspended from a round bail by three chains. I
Adorned with a padlock-shaped tassel at the bottom of the frame.
On the reverse, protected by convex glass, the word AMOUR (LOVE) stands out against a dark red velvet background, cut from gold-colored metal.
