Louis Philippe period 1830 commode in burl walnut vennee with canted corners. The commode comprises four drawers with gilt bronze handles opening from the front, without keys.
The first drawer, covered with marble, is slightly recessed, descending in an ogee curve. It opens to serve as a secretary desk fitted with four drawers, one of which is a secret drawer, veneered in maple placed on either side of a storage space.
The supporting surface is lined with Havana leather.
The bottom rail is attached to the drawer to give it greater overall depth.
