"Bauhaus Beechwood Desk With A 2-3 Piece Re-nickeled Tubular Frame, 1930s"
Bauhaus beechwood desk with a 2-3 piece tubular frame, re-nickel-plated, 1930s. This elegant and solid-looking piece is both modern and timeless. The rounded shapes of the top, handles, and legs create an attractive visual effect. The surface of the solid wood base has been completely sanded and restored with a satin matte varnish, giving the wood a rich, well-maintained color and a satin matte finish. The top has a small plinth, and the legs are fitted with glides for perfect and secure stability on both wood and carpet. The nickel-plated metal base was already corroded and therefore had to be completely stripped. It was then polished, placed several times in a nickel-plating bath, and then polished again. This process was very long and expensive, as there are practically no companies left with such large baths that accept small or single-item orders. The result is impressive: a perfectly restored and wonderfully preserved object for the next 100 years. years of use. We lined the bottom of the drawers with light grey Alcantara.
