A rare and elegant 17th-century cassette-style frame in finely carved and gilded wood. It consists of a wide, flat central band (characteristic of the cassette style), framed by a peripheral frieze carved in relief with rhythmic decoration. The inner border is also adorned with a carved motif highlighting the opening. The whole piece displays harmonious proportions typical of 17th-century Italian frames. - External dimensions of the frame: 36.5 x 30 cm. - Internal dimensions: 22.5 x 16 cm. - Frame molding width: 7.5 cm.
