Console, Louis XV Style, In Gilded Wood, 18th Century

Louis XV Giltwood Console Table – 18th Century – Caunes-Minervois Marble. An important wall console table in richly carved and gilded wood, dating from the Louis XV period, mid-18th century (circa 1740-1760). Beautifully executed Rococo decoration: a central winged mascaron, flowing scrolls, foliate tendrils, and shells. The deep and elegant carving is characteristic of 18th-century French craftsmanship. The top is made of high-quality, thick (4 cm) red Caunes-Minervois marble, displaying natural veining and rich hues typical of this historic quarry. The piece is in good overall condition, with original gilding and a consistent patina. The structure is sound and stable. Dimensions: Height: 84 cm Width: 116 cm Depth: 66 cm
