"Old Book Maimbourg History Of Calvinism 1686 Binding With Royal Arms Protestantism."
A fine copy of the History of Calvinism by the famous Jesuit historian Louis Maimbourg, published in Paris in 1686 (the year of the author's death) by Sébastien Mabre-Cramoisy, Printer to the King. This is volume ten of the collection of his works. This 1686 edition is considered the most complete, published the year of the author's death and representing the definitive state of his historical work. The interior is complete and in very good condition, apart from some light dampstaining (not affecting readability), and the first endpaper has a few small wormholes, without consequence. The contemporary full brown calf binding, with its handsome covers stamped in the center with the Royal Arms of France and framed by a rich border of gilt fleurs-de-lis, is also in good condition, with a few minor signs of age. One corner is slightly worn than the others (lower right of the front cover). A beautiful copy, untouched for 340 years, in very good overall condition. Dimensions: 25.8 x 19.8 cm. Shipping with invoice, fast, careful, and very secure.
