A 1950s/60s ceramic coffee table from Sant Vicens, based on an original design by Jean Lurçat. Lurçat was one of the major artists of the 20th century (1892-1966) and left a remarkable mark on the art of ceramics. A friend of Picasso, Rilke, Dufy, and Marcoussis, he participated in numerous exhibitions from the USA to the USSR. He lived in Sant Vicens, near Perpignan, where he worked with ceramics, creating high-quality tiles, dishes, and pitchers. This magnificent table boasts a vibrant design where his creative freedom was fully expressed. The table is in excellent condition and bears the artist's signature on the back of a tile in the lower right corner. The original woodwork is also in very good condition.
