1887-1888-1889………………….. ;2026. This beautiful collector's tin, published by Huntley and Palmers for their Christmas Calendars, has seen many Christmases without too much damage. This manufacturer had the ingenious idea of packaging its sweets in "collectible" tins with distinctive shapes and meticulous lithography that captivated many. The scalloped tin is illustrated with a gondola bringing market gardeners to Venice. The artwork is signed by the artist Bondalt RW. Marked underneath: With the Queen's Approval, Gold Medal 1878… Some signs of wear on the sides and lid… But giving sweets to children for 139 years is bound to take its toll.
