Tapestry Depicting A Falconry Scene Gothic Style - 19th Century
Superb and rare 19th-century stencil tapestry depicting a falconry scene in a flamboyant Gothic style typical of the early 15th century.
A very beautiful and decorative subject, it features nobility hunting with falcons in the foreground, a beautiful mille-feuille at the bottom (an interesting detail given its medieval theme indeed medieval tapestries have a ground of flowers called milles feuilles), and castles in the background.
The tapestry has been doubled and is in perfect condition.
It is sold with its hanging system.
Delivery available in Belgium, France, and internationally.
Viewable in our showroom at 41 Rue Henri Wafelaerts, 1060 Brussels, Belgium.
More information and photos available upon request.
