"Sailing Boats At Sunset By Arsène Chabanian (1864-1949)"
A spectacular work by the Armenian artist Arsène Chabanian (1864-1949). This is a color aquatint on vellum, signed in pencil by the artist in the lower right, numbered "37" in the lower left, with the blind stamp of the "Cercle de la Librairie" (Lugt 438), and in the upper left the inscription "Georges Petit, 8 rue de Sèze, Paris, December 1909". The dimensions are as follows: - 49.5 x 60 cm (plate mark) - 50 x 60.5 cm (image) - 68 x 78 cm (frame). According to Lugt, the print stamp office was established in 1889 under the auspices of the Cercle de la Librairie (founded in 1847) and aimed to control the printing of prints. He guaranteed collectors and enthusiasts the number of proofs declared to him and which he himself stamped. The stamp was affixed in the lower margin: on the left for proofs of the first state; on the right for other states. Free delivery in Paris possible.
