Antique Venetian Headboard – late 17th / early 18th century
Dimensions: 180 × 73 cm
Description: Important Venetian headboard dating from the late 17th century to the early 18th century, a refined example of the decorative tradition of the Venetian lagoon. Carved and gilded wood, featuring an elegant shaped and sinuous profile. The upper section is defined by three large stylized shells, a characteristic element of the Venetian Baroque taste, enriched with gilded relief motifs.
The wide and theatrical side volutes lend movement and dynamism to the composition, while the lower band is decorated with gilded rosettes.
A piece of great decorative charm, ideal as a headboard or as an important ornamental wall panel, perfect for classical interiors as well as for creating a refined contrast in contemporary settings.
