BESSERVE René Pierre Louis, known as Reb, born in 1883 in Montbéliard (Doubs). Died in 1959 in Saint-Mandé. "The Admirers," oil on canvas, mounted on panel, signed lower right. Painter of compositions with figures, interiors, nudes, landscapes; illustrator, poster artist, caricaturist. Student at the School of Fine Arts in Montpellier. He exhibited in Paris at the Salon d'Automne between 1920 and 1938, the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts in 1922, the Salon des Artistes Indépendants from 1926 to 1938, and the Salon des Tuileries from 1928 to 1939.
