Pierre d'Avesn was a French master glassmaker, born in 1901 and died in 1990. He is best known for his work in the field of Art Deco glass, where he created remarkable pieces that defined this artistic period. D'Avesn began his career at Lalique as a designer and mold maker. Later, he worked for the Daum glassworks and also ran his own glass production company. His creations are often characterized by bold geometric shapes and stylized motifs, typical of the Art Deco aesthetic. He used various glassmaking techniques, including pâte de verre, blowing, and engraving, to create unique and innovative pieces. His works include vases, lamps, bowls and sculptures, which are distinguished by their elegance and sophistication. Although less famous than some of his contemporaries, such as Lalique or Daum, Pierre d'Avesn nevertheless made a significant contribution to the Art Deco movement and his work continues to be appreciated by collectors and art lovers worldwide.
