""at The Golden Apple" Sign, 18th Century, Paris, Wrought Iron"
Sign of the silversmith Tiron, "At the Golden Apple," located on Rue Saint-Louis, on the eponymous island in Paris. Active in the first half of the 18th century, the motif can be seen in advertising engravings of the period. Made of wrought iron that has spent its life outdoors, the metal is weathered in places, and the sign retains its original condition. This is part of its charm and patina. It remains an exceptional piece.
