Sculpture Fayral Le Faguays
Large Sculpture of Antiope by Fayral, Pierre Le Faguays, Art Deco Glassmaker. Large early edition sculpture of "Antiope" by Fayral, pseudonym of Pierre Le Faguays (1892-1962), produced by the Max Le Verrier workshops during the Art Deco period, around 1920. It depicts Antiope, daughter of Ares and queen of the Amazons, a huntress poised to throw her javelin. It features a beautiful light green patina characteristic of early editions, art casting typical of the Le Verrier workshops, and a reconstituted stone base. It is in very good condition; the only issue is that the javelin is missing, but this is easily replaceable.
