Small Art Nouveau Tube Vase with Acid-Etched Decoration by Émile Gallé. This charming small multi-layered glass tube vase was created by Émile Gallé, a major figure of the Nancy Art Nouveau movement. This small model, 9.7 cm high, features a stylized floral decoration etched with acid, characteristic of Gallé's work in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The composition is distinguished by subtle shades of almond green, smoky gray, and purplish blue, delicately layered, highlighting a plant motif with supple, naturalistic lines. The decoration, rendered in low relief on a satin background, reveals great finesse of execution, despite the piece's small size. As is very often the case with small pieces, this vase is unsigned. Originally, these pieces generally had a paper label affixed to the base, which often disappeared over time or during the first washing, explaining its absence today.
