The piece is distinguished by its rich "Boulle" inlay decoration, a technique made famous by master cabinetmaker André-Charles Boulle at the court of Louis XIV, here applied with great finesse across a large section of the ebony structure.
The leafy and arabesque motifs, perfectly defined in design and vivid in color, adorn the main door, the side cabinets, and the upper panel, creating a refined contrast with the dark ebony background. Further enriching the piece is an impressive array of chiseled bronzes: elegant caryatids on the upper part, pendant floral motifs on the lower part, and refined decorations applied to the protrusions, all original and of excellent workmanship.
The top is made of veined Carrara marble, intact and well preserved.
This remarkably elegant piece of furniture represents an authentic testimony to late nineteenth-century French taste, capable of lending prestige and character to any room.
