François Cante Pacos, born in 1946, is a French painter, sculptor, and designer trained at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et des Métiers d'Art (National School of Applied Arts and Crafts). In 1969, he joined the studio of sculptor Étienne Martin at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. The following year, he gained recognition thanks to his poster for "Plastics & Contemporary Art," the first exhibition exclusively devoted to works in plastic. Discovered by Pierre Cardin, he designed the logo for his Espace and created several furniture-sculptures produced by the couturier. The Espace Cardin also dedicated a solo exhibition to him in 1975. In parallel, he exhibited at international fairs (France, United States, Australia, Colombia, etc.) and fulfilled commissions for monumental works (La Défense, Gare Montparnasse, the port of La Rochelle, etc.). In 2018, at Paris Art Design, he unveiled a series of futuristic furniture pieces he had designed in the 1970s but which had never been produced.
