Hand-carved solid wood dog from the 18th century, inspired by the story of Saint Rocco of Venice. The piece is in excellent overall condition and was crafted with great skill and attention to detail. It has a unique appearance with the dog seated, tongue hanging out. Beautiful color and patina; the statue shows slight wear consistent with its age. A rare decorative and religious object.
