Pair of bookends, each signed by Max Le Verrier, French sculptor born in 1891 and died in 1973. Shaped like squirrels, these Art Deco bookends are cast in art metal with a green patina. The material created by Le Verrier is a special alloy, of much higher quality than spelter, and reserved for his own production. There are small chips on the four corners of the base of one of the squirrels. Height of the squirrel: 12.5 cm. Black marble base: 8 cm x 8 cm.
