Elegant 19th-century Carrara marble sculpture of a young girl.
This finely detailed Carrara marble bust depicts a young girl with a lace collar on her blouse and a bow in her hair.
The sculpture is signed on the back by Jacques Boero. Jacques Boero was born in Genoa, Italy, and began his apprenticeship in his native country. Although Benezit classifies him among the members of the Italian school, he is also listed as a pupil of the French sculptor Denis Puech and an exhibitor at the Salons des Artistes Français in 1912 and 1914.
