Reception Tablecloth 436 X 240 Cm In Pure Linen Damask With Cherub Medallions And A Crown

Rare in its size and design, this antique reception tablecloth is made of pure linen damask, a luminous white that takes on a superb glossy appearance after ironing. The woven decoration is particularly refined: large figurative medallions with cherubs, a large central circular medallion adorned with butterflies, elegant vegetal finials at the corners, rich leafy scrolls, and a woven wreath in one corner. Intended for large reception tables, it is a remarkable piece of antique fine linen, typical of late 19th-century production. It shows some signs of wear consistent with its age: two barely visible old repairs, about ten small slits along its length, and a very slight narrowing at one corner. Overall, it is sound, solid, and perfectly presentable. Dating: late 19th – early 20th century, high-quality work, probably Italy or France.
