Louis XVI period writing desk, 18th century. Solid mahogany with pine and walnut inlays. Mahogany drop-front lined with green felt, forming a writing surface revealing four drawers, a shelf, and two compartments. Secret drawer behind the sliding central panel. Fluted square uprights. Rests on four toupie feet. Four drawers in three rows in the front. Wrought iron stays, brass hinges. Round bronze escutcheons and handles. With its key and working lock. Port furniture, probably from La Rochelle.
