Early 18th Century Painted Louis XIV Cabinet
Elegant
cabinet painted in lean tempera in shades of green, yellow, and brown. The
cabinet features period-typical bracketed feet, a finely molded top, and a
concave shape. This piece of furniture is unique: it was probably originally
integrated into a wainscoting, serving as a semi-hidden cabinet. On the front,
the painted decorations depict geometric diamond motifs, further enhancing its
refinement. The cabinet features a gilded bronze lock and key, which open the
door to reveal four ergonomic shelves ideal for storing objects. This is a
piece of furniture of great taste and refinement, capable of adding a touch of
class to any space. Made in the Marche region (central Italy), Louis XIV
period, early 18th century.
