Psyche is a female figure from Greek mythology. Psyche was the daughter of a king and had two sisters.
She was the lover of Eros, the son of Aphrodite. Cupid and Psyche is a story from the Metamorphoses, written in the 2nd century AD by Lucius Apuleius Madaurensis. The story recounts how Psyche and Cupid, or Amor, overcame the obstacles that stood in the way of their love and were finally united in the sacred bonds of marriage.
