"Barney Tjakamarra Campbell"
Barney Tjakamarra Campbell, Aboriginal painter, uses motifs that always evoke the Tingari Ancestors, a typical theme for this sometimes unjustly underestimated artist. He also draws inspiration from bush food stories and the Water Dreaming. Barney's style evolved throughout his career. After painting for years in a very classical style, with a pointillist background, he shifted to a linear style. The structure then appears with a power that only the great masters like Ronnie Tjampitjinpa and George Tjungurrayi can match. His preferred subject depicts the Dreaming motifs of the Kattaru site and Naaru, his father's land (the right to this land comes from his father). During the Dreaming, a large group of Tingari men passed through with their families. They are responsible for the creation of the sand dunes – Thali – which directly inspire Barney's paintings.
