Louis Philippe Style Mahogany Flat Desk, Mid-19th Century
A mahogany flat desk with two drawers in the front, dating from the mid-19th century. The top is covered in burgundy leather with gilt tooling and corner brackets. The front features two drawers with original oak drawer bottoms. It rests on four turned legs typical of the Louis Philippe style. The desk is made of veneered and solid mahogany. The top has a cyma molding around the edge. The piece is solid and in good overall condition. There are some signs of wear on the leather.
