A large, circular chandelier with a medal and matte and bright mercury-gilt patina, dating from the Restoration period, early 19th century. The central body, made of patinated sheet metal, is richly adorned with chased and gilded bronze mounts. Its lower section features a large acanthus rosette terminating in a stylized pine cone. The rim of the bowl is decorated with a frieze of water leaves and large sconces of foliate scrolls. It illuminates with twelve antique-style console-shaped arms, chased with volutes and heart-shaped motifs, upon which rest the candle holders in the form of blooming corollas. The upper section is surmounted by an imposing bouquet of acanthus leaves and a baluster-shaped vase echoing the gilding. The whole is suspended by six intricately worked link chains, connected to a domed canopy with rich, chiseled ornamentation, terminating in a pine cone. This chandelier, in superb original condition, has been fully cleaned. Its mercury gilding is very well preserved, retaining its original matte and glossy finishes. It is not electrified, preserving the full authenticity of its candle holders and structure (no holes for electrical wires), which is a valuable asset for purists. Total height 105 cm. Overall diameter 80 cm.
